Conor Review: "[T]he papacy seems one of the clearest and easiest dogmas to prove from [the] early Church." This is the thesis Fr. Fortescue sets out to establish by looking at sources from the early Church from Christ to 451, the Synod of Chalcedon. He culls together sources that establish his thesis. He makes a persuasive, albeit polemical argument (this is likely a function of the time he was writing (1920)). I recommend this book for a good basic read of some of the early sources establishing papal primac

Andrew Campbell Review: I came to respect and appreciate this novel more than it promised in its opening pages. But I never did come around to liking it, exactly. Which I daresay is the author's intent.

Ms. Henderson testifies to this on the back cover: "I wanted to capture the innocence of those country stories, and also to fracture it." Fracture it she does, far beyond a funhouse mirror and into a thousand jagged shards.

This is a punishing book. Oh, it's easy enough to read, and (for the most part) smoothly told in it

Sandy *The world could end while I was reading and I would never notice* Review: Another good solid read from Peter Robinson in this, the 4th in the Chief Inspector Banks series.

A faceless corpse is discovered by a tramper in a tranquil, hidden valley below the village of Swainshead.

To Chief Inspector Banks it seems that his latest case may be connected with an unsolved murder in the same area five years ago. But nobody is talking, either about the current murder or the past one.

And what happened to the woman who vanished at the time of the first murder. Is she too dead? Or

Sarita Chapdelaine Review: This was an interesting story with great world building. I did find the writing to be disjointed at times but I really enjoyed this book. All of the characters were engaging and Peregwin was enchanting. His absolute determination to give his son a better life in spite of their circumstances was the best part of the book. Peregwin worked tirelessly to care for his son and feed everyone in Mount Liberty. Stone is caught trying to steal food and when he is sent away Peregwin brings him back to his

Carmel (Rabid Reads) Review: Reviewed by: Rabid Reads.

It's with deep sadness that I bid adieu to one of my f-a-v-o-u-r-i-t-e series. But, don't despair just yet, Anne Bishop has announced that she will be returning to THE OTHERS world in 2018! I enjoyed ETCHED IN BONE considerably more than book 4 because the scope of the story was much narrower which means that we get lots of Meg & Simon, and less of the rest of Thaisia. The plot was also milder in nature, and that was both a plus and a minus. Yay on account of it bein
