Shannon Appelcline Review: One Small Step (#11-15). The third arc examines another interesting consequence of the "Y" die-off: what if there were men in space who didn't succumb to the plague (or whatever it was)? It's an interesting idea that lets Vaughan really expand the scope of his story, but on the downside it takes time away from Yorick and the rest of our protagonists. Despite that, it maintains some nice tension and keeps connecting up threads from the first volume, this time in the form of the Israelis. In the e

Chris Review: My first foray into the post-EU era reboot of the Star Wars novel series. Since this is "official" canon now, it's even more interesting to get a look into the backstory of Grand Moff Tarkin.

Overall, the story is pretty basic. Nothing special, other than that it's Star Wars. There's not a lot of adventure, though there are some battle scenes. The big draw here is the character development of Tarkin himself, the Big Bad of the very first movie. This was Star Wars when it was simply Star Wars. The

The main narrator, Nanette, is very likable, and w

Aestas Book Blog Review:
So many secrets in this house. And yet, the one secret I should have told years ago is the one I’ve kept the quietest.

Colleen Hoover is one of best authors I've ever read and her books are always sitting at the top of my recommendations lists for every kind of reader! Her books are absorbing, her characters are endearing, and each new story she writes is unique, relatable, and thought provoking. She has a very distinctive writing style that I absolutely love, I also respect and admire her a

Jessica Woodbury Review: I was nervous that a Tiffany Haddish book wouldn't feel like Tiffany Haddish, but happily no one has tried to change her. This book is so clearly 100% Tiffany, which is wise. If you've seen her on screen you would know if there was any attempt to dress her up or change her voice.

A lot of this book is funny, but a lot of it really isn't. A rough childhood, troubled relationships with men, and plenty of encounters with misogyny in comedy. What you get here is joy and pain, but always through Tiff
