Donna Review: A solid 4 stars. This was my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed it and I would definitely read more by him any day. The story line was a little stressful though, and since I was already having a stressful day, it added to those feelings. Everything that could go wrong with the MC, did....plus way more. It was a gripping story.

The role of the second wife, seemed like "filler" to me and there were a few other characters that seemed to be thrown to shift suspicion all around. It felt,

William1 Review: This book is a superficial gloss on human history. Nice try but it excludes too much data in favor of an overarching conceptual view to be deeply interesting. Stopped reading for reasons detailed below at p. 304 of 416.

Considering the outlandishness of some of its claims—the downside of the Agricultural Revolution, the joys of Empire—the book seems weirdly under-sourced. The bibliography is beyond meagre. Don't get me wrong, I like a little informed speculation as much as anyone. Take for exampl

"Free Days with George" is in hardcover currently & without pause, I highly-recommend this memoir to anyone! Colin Campbell's writing is crisp, unsentimental & yet brimming with the joy & pain that is human existence- now & in our past generations. Indeed, "Free Days with George" proves that it is not the destination but the journey which truly matters in

Candice Beever Review: I didn't like this book as much as the first two. I actually put it down twice in the middle to read other books and then again twenty pages from the end (mid-reveal). I just didn't care how the case ended.

The victim of the case was meant to be a personal friend of Mary's, which is why they get involved with the case at all, but I just didn't see the connection. They had only met once. How close of friends can they be?

Also, Mary ended up following the wrong lead on the case. So, half of the case
